Focus Garden Products Pty Ltd was formed in 1993 and is a successful international distributor of high quality leading edge fiberglass water features. Focus also imports and brands water gardening and other types of gardening products for distribution into the South African market.
Tony Roocroft owns the company and over the last few years Tony also known across the web as "The Pond Professor" has written many hundreds of articles on a wide variety of interesting topics. These articles cover topics in depth and it was the need for a simplified starting point that made him consider starting a site like this. A site that's brief and to the point, designed to answer the very basic questions of what, why, where, when and how.
Maybe you are wondering who I am and what I do. Here is a bit of background:
I am a qualified chemical engineer. Much of my career was spent working in the biochemical and polymer operations of large chemical companies in the UK and South Africa.
In 1992 I left the corporate scene and started my own business.
My passion for the internet surfaced some 13 years ago in the very early days of e-mail. The company I managed was one of the very first in South Africa to run a successful internal e mail system. When I left the company which had employed me some 20 years earlier my interest dwindled somewhat until around 1995. At this time I re-awoke to the wonders of e mail and the www. Since then I have learned and implemented as much as I could handle while continuing my "day job."
My interest in the net gets greater by the day and as my own success using internet or web applications grows so does my desire to assist others.
